Please post your ideas about what you undertand about the inquiry process. This needs to be completed by the end of term one and again in term four.

 

Term One

 

At our school we have not had any PD on Inquiry based learning so have not yet developed our own model for inquiry learning. However we are highly motivated about using an inquiry based model to further develop our teaching and to extend the students. It is great to be a part of the ICT cluster as we find inquiry learning and ICT compliment each other well.
 
 
Our journey so far towards inquiry learning:
 
In 2006 we began to plan as a whole staff and all curriculum areas were planned around one context of learning. As a class we would then formulate our own set of questions and research accordingly to deepen the student’s level of thinking. We found this method worked well and we have continued with it this term with our KIWIANA focus that is integrated into writing, topic and ICT. In our planning we are now using De Bono’s Thinking Hats to encourage the students analyse issues in various ways. We have also just begun to use SCAMPER to create a KIWIANA icon. We collected these ideas form TKI under the ICT page. We do not have KidPix so we are going to experiment with Art Rage instead.
