Please post your ideas about what you undertand about the inquiry process. This needs to be completed by the end of term one and again in term four.

Term One

For Muritai School, inquiry is the backbone to our learning programmes. We believe we have a strong understanding and review process of the effectiveness of Inquiry in the school environment. Our inquiry management, through recent review, has been updated to include a structural planning process whereby the teachers frame the inquiry process and a classroom inquiry model where the children work through a process of building information and knowledge and then inquiring specific aspects so they can identify a key action that can be made. Starting with a big idea, our inquiry process is dependent on effective questioning, strong knowledge acquisition skills, co-operative working environments and the effective integration of ICT to enable learning to be more global in nature. Our classroom model is based on 6 E's - Excite (wonder); Explore (knowledge); Explain (comprehend); Examine (analyse), Expand (synthesise and apply); Express (evaluate). I hope it works well for us for us as we go forward!
