Please post your ideas about what you undertand about the inquiry process. This needs to be completed by the end of term one and again in term four.

Term One

We started to think seriously about diving into Inquiry around the middle of last year.Megan (AP) and I visited  Coley Street School in Foxton where we saw and heard the amazing results of just 2 years work on their Inquiry model. We also received support after this visit from Jan the DP at Coley Street in the form of Inquiry Materials that they have developed. We also visited Muritai and Waterloo who were also generous, both with time and resources. We are lucky in the bothe Kelly and Georgina are release teachers who ahve been previously involved in Inquiry learning PD and bring those skills with them.

From this my understanding of the Inquiry process is broadly this- provide the children with motivation, enthusiasm and the tools for learning and guide/facilitate them in their learning process, whether whole class, group or individual.
