As a cluster, the decision was made last year to focus on using an inquiry approach for teaching and learning. The first step towards doing this successfully is for each school to have discussions as a staff about what inquiry means for them as a school.

You will see from the Sidebar to the right that there is a page for each school to say what they believe inquiry means for them. Schools are asked to please have their information loaded onto this wiki by the end of Term One. We will be asking you to revisit the wiki in Term Four to show how your thinking has changed or evolved over the course of the year.

To edit this page, click on Edit at the top of the screen. You will then be asked for a password which is 'cluster'. If you are working on Firefox or Internet Explorer, there is a very simple to use formatting section above the text box you are editing. If you are using Safari, this function won't work so you will need to read the style advice on WikiStyle

"Inquiry is a dynamic process of being open to wonder and puzzlement and coming to know and understand the world. As such, it is a stance that pervades all aspects of life and is essential to the way in which knowledge is created. Inquiry is based on the belief that understanding is constructed in the process of people working and conversing together as they pose and solve the problems, make discoveries and rigorously testing the discoveries that arise in the course of shared activity."

"Inquiry is a dynamic approach to learning that involves exploring the world, asking questions, making discoveries, and rigorously testing those discoveries in the search for new understanding. However, inquiry is a tough concept to pin down. It is complex, multifaceted, and looks different in different classrooms and contexts."
